Domain Name related Rules

Common Domain Name Rules

.CO supports Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs).

.CO domain names support the following features:

For Resellers: .CO domain names do not support the following features:

• Bulk Lock/Unlock
• Bulk Suspend/Unsuspend

When a .CO domain is restored there is a 5 day hold on the domain name wherein no modifications can be done to the domain.

Domain Name Registration

We provide Registration services under the below .CO TLDs (extensions):

• .CO
• .COM.CO
• .NET.CO
• .NOM.CO

Only Registrar .CO Internet S.A.S. provides Registration services under the below.CO TLDs:

• .ORG.CO
• .MIL.CO
• .GOV.CO
• .EDU.CO

Registration of .ORG.CO, .MIL.CO, .GOV.CO, .EDU.CO will remain pending until the Registrant submits the requested documentation to Registrar .CO Internet S.A.S..

.CO, .COM.CO, .NET.CO, .NOM.CO, .ORG.CO domain names can be Registered for a period of 1 to 5 years.

A .CO domain name do not have any Money Back Grace Period.

There is a 60 day Transfer lock upon Registration of a .CO domain name.

.CO domain names do not support the Bulk Registration feature.

Domain Name Renewal

Only .MIL.CO, .GOV.CO, .EDU.CO domain names are automatically renewed for a period of 5 years post their Expiry.

.CO, .COM.CO, .NET.CO, .NOM.CO, .ORG.CO domain names can be Renewed for a period of 1 to 5 years.

.CO, .COM.CO, .NET.CO, .NOM.CO, .ORG.CO domain names will continue to resolve to the actual website during the initial 5 days of the Renewal Grace Period. They would then be put on a temporary commercial Parking Page for the remainder of the Renewal Grace Period.

If .CO, .COM.CO, .NET.CO, .NOM.CO, .ORG.CO domain names are not renewed within 40 days after their Expiry, they are deleted.

Upon Deletion of these domain names, they slip into Redemption Grace Period.

Redemption Grace Period for a .CO domain name is 30 days.

Domain Name Transfer

Only .CO, .COM.CO, .NET.CO, .NOM.CO domain names can be transferred to another Registrar.

There is a 60 day Transfer lock upon Transfer of a .CO domain name.

.CO domain names do not support the Bulk Transfer feature.

Contact Details related Rules

Accented character (á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ, ü) usage is supported in the case of creating/editing the following Contact fields:

• Name
• Company Name
• Address

Privacy Protection feature is supported for the following .CO TLDs:

• .CO
• .COM.CO
• .NET.CO
• .NOM.CO

Bulk Privacy Protection and Bulk Modify features are not supported for .CO domain names.

Name Servers and Child Name Servers related Rules

.CO domain names support 2 to 13 Name Servers.

There is no restriction to the number of Child Name Servers you may create for a .CO domain name.

There is no support for IPv6 addresses for .CO domain names.
