Domain Restoration Timeline and Process (Expired Domain Recovery, Renewal & Registry Update)

When your expired or deleted domain is being restored, this article explains the domain restoration timeline and recovery process, including how registry updates, domain renewal, Whois status changes, and expiry date updates determine when the restoration is completed in the system.

A domain restoration process usually takes time since it needs to be restored from the registry. Now, there is no specific time frame within which this will complete, but it usually takes around 24 hours.

Also note, the status of the domain may display OK on the Whois, however, the action will not complete in our systems until the expiry date has been updated at the registry as well.

Once the domain status AND the expiry date is updated in the registry database, the restoration action will complete automatically in our system.
