Fix Disk Space Errors in cPanel
When your hosting account shows disk space warnings or stops accepting new data. This article explains how to resolve disk space errors in cPanel.
In a VPS server, disk space error would mean that the allotted disk space for the user has gotten exhausted.
Checks:
-
The disk space usage is valid. This needs a check if a .trash or similar unwanted file or backup can be removed.
-
Also if there is other usage showing in cPanel > disk space usage. That could be default mail address taking up space or some other location storing files under that user’s ownership.

In case the disk usage is genuine, and more space is needed, the allocated disk space for the domain needs to be increased from WHM. Steps:
-
Login to WHM
-
In the menu to the left under Account Functions, click on “Modify an account”
-
Select the Domain or User you wish to modify and click Modify.
-
Change the Quota value for the package(s) selected and click Save.
You may also make changes to the package, in case you want all customers under a specific package to have an increase in disk space.
