How do I apply for an EV SSL Certificate?

When you want to secure your website with an EV SSL certificate. This article explains how to submit your application, provide CSR and organization details, choose a verification method, and complete the validation process.

 

After you purchase an EV SSL Certificate order, you will need to first complete a verification process with the Certificate Authority in order to get your final Certificate. Follow the steps below to apply for your certificate.

Apply for a EV SSL Certificate

Step 1: Log in to your control panel. 

Step 2: Navigate to the Order Information view.

Type the Domain Name of the order in the search field on the homepage, select Order from the drop down and click on Search.

Step 3: Submit your certificate application.

  • In the Order Information view, navigate to the SSL Certificate section and click on Issue certificate.

  • Enter your CSR and click on Next.

  • Enter the organization details and click on Next.

  • On the next page, select a verification method from the list of available methods and follow the steps to complete the verification. 

Note

  • Ensure that Privacy Protection is disabled for the Domain Name.

  • Comodo will verify your Organization details via a relevant Government/Third-Party database.

  • The Contact Email Address will be used by Comodo to send any agreements that need to be accepted. You will need to enter the email address of the person who has the authority to accept agreements on the Organization’s behalf.

  • An SSL Certificate will not be issued to a national or resident of Cuba, Iran, Sudan, North Korea, or Syria or any other country where such use is prohibited under United States export regulations, or anyone on the United States Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals or the United States Commerce Department's Table of Denial Orders.
