I Didn't Receive the OTP During eKYC Verification for My .IN Domain
Summary
Use this article if you did not receive the OTP required to complete eKYC verification for your .IN, 3rd-level .IN (such as .co.in, .net.in, and .org.in), or .BHARAT domain.
The eKYC process involves two OTP verifications:
-
An OTP sent to the registrant's contact number on the Digio page.
-
An OTP sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar on DigiLocker.
These can be two different mobile numbers.
Before You Begin
Ensure that:
-
You have access to the registrant's contact number.
-
You have access to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
-
You have completed Email Verification.
How to Troubleshoot Missing OTPs
Step 1: Confirm Which OTP You Did Not Receive
Determine which OTP is missing:
-
The OTP sent to the registrant's contact number on the Digio page.
-
The OTP sent to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number on DigiLocker.
The steps to resolve the issue depend on which OTP was not received.
Step 2: If You Did Not Receive the OTP on the Registrant's Contact Number
-
Confirm that the registrant's contact number displayed on the Digio page is correct.
-
Ensure that the registrant's contact number is a valid mobile number and not a landline number.
If the contact number is incorrect:
-
Open the Order Overview page for the domain in your control panel.
-
Click Contact Details.
-
Update the registrant contact number to a valid mobile number.
-
Save the changes.
-
Restart the verification process.
Step 3: If You Did Not Receive the OTP on the Aadhaar-Linked Mobile Number
-
Confirm that you have access to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
-
Ensure that the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar can receive SMS messages.
If you do not have access to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number, you must first update your Aadhaar details before you can complete eKYC verification.
What Happens Next?
Once you receive the required OTP:
-
Complete the OTP verification.
-
Continue the remaining eKYC steps on DigiLocker.
Your domain verification is complete only after you have completed both Email Verification and eKYC.
