Why Is My GST Credit Not Reflected in the GSTR Report?

Summary

Use this article to understand why the GST credit for your invoices may not be reflected in your GSTR report and the checks you should perform before contacting us.

Why Is My GST Credit Not Reflected?

If the GST credit for your invoice is not reflected in your GSTR report, it does not necessarily mean there is a problem with your invoice. There are several reasons why the credit may not appear immediately.

Some common reasons include:

  • The GSTIN in your reseller account is incorrect or was not added before the invoice was generated.

  • The invoice was generated before your GSTIN was updated in your reseller account.

  • The GST return for the relevant tax period has not yet been filed or processed.

  • There is a temporary delay in the GST portal reflecting the uploaded invoice details.

  • The GST details in your reseller account do not match the records available on the GST portal.

What Should I Do?

Before raising a billing ticket, verify the following:

  • Ensure your GSTIN is correctly added to your reseller account.

  • Verify that the GSTIN displayed on the invoice is correct.

  • Confirm that the invoice belongs to the relevant GST filing period.

  • Check whether the GST return for the applicable tax period has been filed and processed.

  • If the GST return has already been filed and processed, allow some time for the GST portal to reflect the uploaded invoice details.
